Ourania joined the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in February of 2019 to lead the Organization’s engagement with corporations, foundations and international philanthropists globally. In this role she has led the International Philanthropy and Partnerships (IPP) team to 3 consecutive years of exceeding target with 45% YoY growth in year 1 alone. As of October 2020, Ourania also leads on IRC’s inaugural Global Partnerships and Philanthropic Services Division (GPPS)- a first-of-its-kind global partnerships development hub that aims to standardize and solidify our global high-value offering in a single competitive proposition. GPPS serves IRC’s two High Value Teams (IPP and USA Philanthropy) with functional areas such as research, editorial services, field experience, corporate affairs et al. Together IPP and USA Philanthropy collectively make up for more than 80% of the Organization’s private-sector revenue. Ourania is a former diplomat of the Republic of Cyprus and UN official, with more than 15 years of experience consulting to, and serving in senior management 

positions in government, international organizations (UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP, WHO, UNOCHA, European Commission, Council of Europe) and private sector multinationals. She has previously served as the Director of the Press and Information Office- Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus to the USA; Director of Strategy and Policy- EU Council Presidency Secretariat; Division Head Crisis Management and External Positioning- MoFA the Republic of Cyprus; Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic of Cyprus and most recently as UNICEF’s Head of Public and Private-sector Partnerships in the Gulf region (KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain). Ourania has worked extensively on innovative financing and venture philanthropy initiatives for the digitalization of global health (WHO- Bloomberg) and global private-public humanitarian emergency funds (IsDB, WHE et al). She is an alumni of the Ionian University (Greece), the Paul- Valery University (France), Johns Hopkins University SAIS (Washington, DC) and Georgetown University (Washington, DC). She is an awarded International negotiations and bargaining expert (Harvard University), a global human rights trainer (Council of Europe) and a crisis management specialist (Johns Hopkins University). She has published several OP-EDs and has received global public policy distinctions (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Presidential Award, UNOPS, Council of Europe). She is the awarded author of the “IDD Theory” (US Library of Congress) a new conflict management and political identity theory awarded by the President of the World Bank Group (2008). She is a fellow of Rotary International, the Peace and Security Institute, the Fund for American Studies, the International Institute for Political and Economic Studies and the Greek Association for Atlantic and European Cooperation.
